I heard Apple computers are the best to use for recording but other than Apple what other computer can be used?

I'm trying to put together a recording studio a little at a time. I really don't want to spend alot of money until I start getting work.

Any computer is fine, so long as it has a decent audio card installed. With a good USB microphone, good room acoustics, and a free program like Audacity, you can be up and running.
You can even upgrade to a CEntrance Mic Port Pro and use a condenser mic with an XLR input on a laptop with a USB port.
It's all so much simpler nowadays to get started... Get some training, and learn the basics.
