If you successfully complete a job for a client, do you need their permission before using it as a demo and adding them to your client list?

Hi Michael,
Unfortunately, you are not allowed to use a client's audio file as one of your demos without getting the client's permission.
Your best course of action is to contact your client directly and explain that you would like to use their audio file on your demo reel and see if they mind. Some clients have privacy and proprietary information that they do not wish to have in public on demo reels. Most clients are very understanding of requests for usage however, so it never hurts to ask. Just make sure that you respect their decision and any conditions that the client may have for usage.

OK thanks for the response. I appreciate it. What about listing them on your clients list? Would that be ok?
