When you think of large King Kong type apes you think of Africa, home to large apes such as Chimpanzee, Bonobos ,Lowland Gorillas and the elusive mountain gorilla of the Congo. But hidden in the western region may live the biggest Ape on the dark continent. The yet undiscovered Bili ape…an ape so large it is said by natives to kill lions.

2003 Sarmiento from the American Museum of Natural History in NY, spent 8 weeks in the African Congo in search of the newly named Bili Ape. The Natives and eyewitnesses said it could stand up to 8 ft walks upright and has a chimp like head.
