----------- SCRIPT -----------

Quiet solitude reigns as I stand on the 1st tee…the final round beckons. As I look out over the course I try and visualize how my game will play out. I take my stance, close my fingers around the handle, and the cushioned grip gives way. Then, with one crisp, smooth stroke, my club parts the morning air. Thus begins the journey.

What is it about this game? Is it the subtle test of skills, the mental stimulation? Is it the physical challenge? Is it winning? No, the real pleasure is in the journey. So my round continues, I place one foot in front of the other, learning and adapting along the way…and I play on.

As I make the turn my mind is sharp, and my swing is strong. Yes, I think of the past… yet I surge forward into the future with confidence...and I play on.

Well, the sun is now setting as I approach the 18th hole. Oh sure, I’m a little weary…and not all that eager to finish the game…but I suppose it’s time.

Someone once said golf is a game that can’t be won, only played. So I focus one last time on the ball, and with one smooth, solid stroke…one perfect stroke, I play on.
