Job Description
I am the head of a company developing games for the blind and visually impaired community. The game that we are currently building is called Battle Crescendo, it is an action/strategy adventure set in medieval times.

The game will not be sold in normal stores, it will only be distributed via our website at least as things look right now. We will need full buyout rights for these recordings, which is to say the right to use them for anything we like as long as they are associated with the game. There is also a great chance that audio snippets from the game will be broadcast on TV and Radio which may or may not include your recordings, but they will still be a part of the production.

This job is for a character in the game, it involves some pretty emotional acting. Your character, the soldier, is being attacked by wolves and the player, Gareth, can then choose whether or not he wants to save you. The only problem is, it turns out that you were part of the army that destroyed his home and killed his entire family...

The full script is below, with Gareth's lines included as well so that you can get your parts in their right context. Only submit custom auditions; no generic demos please.

--- Start of Script ---

When the soldier appears the player is walking in a desolate, frozen landscape. All of a sudden he hears violent screaming and the sound of attacking wolves. Here he has to choose whether or not to save the man from being eaten alive, risking his own life at the same time.

First we will need a lot of violent struggling and screams, the soldier is trying to fight off the wolves and hinder them from practically tearing him apart. He is screaming for help at the top of his lungs, but in reality he has given up all hope.

If the player is too late to save the man, we need a sound as he dies slowly and painfully.

If the player fights off the wolves, the soldier is completely exhausted and every breath feels like a red-hot knife in his chest.

Soldier:

"What... What happened... Am I really still alive? And who, who are you? A phantom? I... I don't..."

The soldier is unable to continue, he falls down on his knees with a faint groan.

Gareth (sounding worried):

"Where are you coming from, and why are you alone?"

Soldier (still in a lot of pain and more exhausted now from blood loss):

"I am returning from a mission, we were ordered to find a certain individual in a little village some ten miles from here. But things got out of hand and we all had to flee, I was nearly killed in the fire but managed to get away in the end. I've been looking for the others ever since, until I was attacked by those devils. My horse threw me off and bolted when the wolves got too close, I only managed to grab my saddlebags before I hit the ground. But who are you? You're no more than a boy and yet..."

Gareth (through clenched teeth, shaking with rage):

"And yet I was foolish enough to save one of the men responsible for the deaths of all the people I ever loved in this world. In gods name I'll, I'll..."

Soldier (forcing himself to speak again, his life slipping away with every breath):

"Kill me? My son, I am already dead. You have a good heart, and our heavenly father will reward you. All that is in my saddlebags, you may take. It amounts to nearly two handfuls of gold. I was hoping to use it to buy myself out of the army, but now, I need it no longer. And if giving it to you washes away even the slightest portion of my sins, I give it to you in the hope that god will embrace me when I stand before the gates."

Gareth (hesitant):

"I, I thank you. Go in peace, and I shall pray to god to have mercy on your soul."
