I am also a filmmaker and when I first started in the production business, I would use my own voice to record rough narration, saying to clients, “This is just a scratch track; when the copy is approved, we’ll record a real narrator.” But a strange thing started happening: clients liked my voice and they asked me to do the real narration. So that’s how I got started as a narrator. Since then I’ve done voiceovers for documentaries, instructional programs, commercials, and audiobooks.
