My experience has shown that a voice talent must grab the listener's attention within the first few seconds, cause them to instantly develop a mental picture of the speaker and then hold that attention through the rest of the message. You must leap out of the speaker, grabbing them by the ears and mind.

I'm just out of 29-years as a morning news anchor at a top-rated news-talk station. My wife and I are the only husband-wife air show announcing team in North America and have been doing that as a side-line for nearly 20-years.
