Andy Zamenes, Andy Z (andyz.com)
I am a children's/family music recording artist, singer-songwriter and performer who recently cast Jonathan Murphy as the voice of "Danger Dude" for my fifth studio album, a Halloween adventure titled "The Grand Scream Of Things"- produced by the Grammy-nominated Tor Hyams ( www.tor.net ), and scheduled for national release in 2012. I had great difficulty finding a voiceover artist who could play the part of this young teenage slightly "punk" teenage character, until we found Jonathan. He was able to find the accent and style we were looking for, reproduce it immediately, and even add to it. Both Tor and I were impressed with him right away, and his substantial contribution to this audioplay has greatly enhanced it and brought it to a level of quality worthy of an "official" national release. I highly recommend him.
Troy Johnson, Director
"This was my first time working with Jonathan, and I was very impressed with his dedication
to making sure he was giving me what I wanted from his character, and he took every piece
of direction I gave him and ran with it. He was continually looking for ways to add to the show
(in the good way!) throughout rehearsals. At a recent performance he made a "save" to a
moment when things could have gone awry that showed he was not only in character, but
thinking smartly about how to set things right and make a mistake by another actor look like
it was supposed to happen all along -- it was brilliant. I'd happily cast Jonathan again in
the future."
Thomas Tissot, California's Great America
"I've had the great pleasure of working with Jonathan on many different types projects while at California's Great America. Jonathan has provided Great America with an immense range of different voices and characters, quickly becoming our “go to guy” in all voiceover requirements. I am consistently impressed by Jonathan's speed and efficiency; he always delivers exactly what is needed, quickly and professionally. He is great at taking direction, and will always work to develop his different voices until they sound like exactly what was envisioned. He is also extremely creative, often coming up with new and different ideas that often work better than what was originally planned. I look forward to working with Jonathan in the future!"
