Need a Standard Non-regional North American voice? She has that. How about Southern Belle? She can do that. What about a no-nonsense New York accent? She can do that and any borough in New York. In fact, Matilda can do accents in ALL American dialects.
In addition she performs flawless British, Australian, East Indian, South African, German, Hungarian, Russian, French, Italian, Dutch, Irish, and Scottish accents. She is proficient recording in German language as well.
"Each story is told with a fresh approach and vivid language. Narrator Matilda Novak picks up on these changes and alters her delivery for each tale. She does this with a delicate touch....The narrator has crisp diction and a pleasing, feminine voice.....Her pronunciation of foreign words is flawless." - Rochelle O'Gorman, Reviewer, L.A.Times.

Matilda started working in voice-overs in 1992 with a radio broadcasting graduate doing Real Estate Shows and Auto Shows for local cable television. She grew passionate about voice-over work and decided to make a go of it! So, in 1996, she packed her bags and headed for LA.

The most recent project Matilda recorded was for the Hershey Museum, as the voice of a little old lady recalling what things were like back in the day working at the Hershey chocolate factory. She was also hired recently as the announcer for new Teleflora spots. In addition, she did some voice-over work for a new invention called "Baby B'air" designed to keep lap babies safe during air travel.

She had fun recently recording voice-over for an animation feature entitled "Bala Pandavas"; based on a story in the Mahabharata for some of her East Indian clients. Matilda played one of the heroes, a boy named Bhima Pandavas. The director, Richard Green, was Brilliant, and she sincerely enjoyed her experience!

Matilda’s favorite projects are recording books, nonfiction and fiction alike. She had an especially good time working with John Lee in his directing debut, recording a best seller called "Impulse" for Books on Tape a few years ago.

Her most recent book project was an interactive World Cultures textbook for 8th graders on which she was the primary female voice. A dream come true for Matilda! She recalls listening to the “anonymous woman” voicing the slides when she was in elementary school, thinking it would be neat to be the voice the kids hear in class.

She enjoyed her directing debut recently for "Pushkin and the Queen of Spades" produced by Pat Fraley for Blackstone Audio. The best part for her was helping a fellow voice-over actor make her audio-book debut as well.

Fun Stuff:

Matilda has brought some very interesting characters to life! She’s played a talking microwave oven with an Aussie accent, a stuttering goose librarian, a hard of hearing hippo, a mouse, and a variety of comedic roles.
