It’s with pleasure that I write a reference for Phillip Rose.

Philip is the voice behind SPL’s mathematics home tutor programme. In 2009 we recorded over 60 hours of teacher’s audio; with subject material ranging from the very basic right up to A level Maths subjects such as calculus and trigonometry.

As such we wanted the material recorded in an authoritative yet engaging manner. It was also a must that the reader be able to deal both with basic step by step explanations as well as quite complex formulae in such a way as to be grammatically correct but interesting with an easy listen-to flow.

Philip more than matched our demanding aspirations and we are delighted with the results of the recordings.

With regard to the recording sessions themselves we were extremely pleased with Philip’s whole approach. He was punctual and wholly professional throughout. He read the simple as well as complex sessions excellently and for the most part on the first take with all the obvious economies that this ensured. It made for a fun and enjoyable series of recordings.

In summary we highly recommend Philip both for the quality of his voice and reading as well as his professional approach.
