Stephen James (full name Stephen James Smith) is a versatile voice-actor originally from Birmingham, England, and now based near New Orleans, Louisiana. Born in 1955, Stephen has always had a flair for words and has enjoyed a long career as writer, principally in marketing commmunications.
Stephen has run his own PR, marketing communications and business solutions consultancy sInce 1987 and, in 2003 received a diploma in voice-over acting in Las Vegas, where he was a leading light in "The Talent Pool" run by his voice mentor and coach, former Hollywood TV actress Betty Lougaris. Stephen was also an active member of the board of Media Guilds International.
During this time, the highlightsof his voice-over activities are a 'behind the mic' performance as part of the Talent Pool at Mandalay Bay Hotel/Casino on the Las Vegas Strip, and a number of apearances on PBS, presenting "An Evening of British Comedy".
Now located near New Orleans, Louisiana, Stephen is actively involved in developing his voice over abilities and has recently become an active member of the voice-over community. He is currently involved in setting up a voice-over workshop for actors and aspiring voice talent, and is also part of a group currently working on a 'behind the mic' production of the classic movie "It's a Wonderful Life"

In addition, Stephen has developed several characters and is able to perform many British regional accents, including Irish and Scottish; while he is also able to produce a standard American accent.
Among the characters Stephen has developed are a Beatles-style and Ozzy Osbourne impersonations (Ozzy is from Stephen's native Birmingham, UK) as well as "L'il Me" (a falsetto cartoon-style character) and a range of British characterizations.
Such flexibiity and range make Stephen's voice ideal also for voice-over for animations and video games.
