Born & raised in Western Michigan, I am a "true" native speaker of "broadcast" English. I find it amusing that my friends - and even my family - often do not realize they are listening to my voice when they hear it. That's because of my radio and television (announcer) experience, where I learned to say and feel the copy, not just read it.
My voice appears on many Voice Processing Systems, where my prompts are preferred because the timing and consistency allow multiple prompts to be put together in a convincing and believable sentence. How this applies to traditional voice-over work is that, even if additional copy is read years after the original, the sound will be consistent. If you're developing software, such as video games or educational programs, elemental phrases can be played back-to-back and can still sound like a fluent sentence. Add random selection of multiple readings of the same phrases, and your users won't be bored by replays of identical intonations!

One more thing - I have a Filipino wife who helps me make sure my Filipino/Tagalog voice work sounds perfect.
