In the late 1990s, I began working as a radio producer for an NPR radio and TV station. When you're on staff with NPR, there's little room to hide when the pledge drive comes calling. But once 'forced' to step in front of the microphone, I found that listeners, colleagues, and audio producers loved my 'pleasing alto' voice.

As a result, I was frequently tapped often by corporate, educational, and audiobook producers who rented the NPR radio station's studio to record their projects. It was unexpected and wonderful detour, and one that I pursue more proactively now instead of waiting for someone to say, "I just love your voice! Have you ever considered doing voiceover work?" I have and I do!
