About Annie Major-Matte

Overview

Professional actress, songwriter and performer with over 30 years experience.

Annie Major-Matte began in show business at the age of four thanks to the contacts of her uncle Pierre Dumont, singer-songwriter and saxophonist.

She starred in “Un Homme au Foyer" a TV show broadcast on CFTM 10 (now TVA) for two seasons. For six years, she played Daphne in “Le Club des 100 Watts” She played Marie-Ange Pronovost in the series Les filles de Caleb. She also played the role of Anne Petit in the award winning period drama series “Marguerite Volant”. She hosted Les Frimousses children's show, where she played Léa from 1999 to 200.
In 1993, she sang on the album Les Petits Noëls, produced by Guy Trépanier's Groupe concept musique. In 2003 she was recruited by Delphinemusik, a subsidiary of GCC Communications. The album Dissidence, of which she wrote most of the lyrics and music, which was also produced by Tino Izzo. The first single "Feu de paille" hits #1 on 27 Quebec radio stations. In 2004, she appeared as the opening act for Garou's Quebec tour, notably at the Bell Center. In 2017, she released another album "Major Matte Black" with Disques Passport, with a band she formed herself under the name of EDNA.

Since 2012, Annie is the official voice of WKND 91.9 in Quebec City.
