I was working as WAH (work at home interpreter) for the last 17 years. My boyfriend always told me he loves my voice whether face to face or over the phone. As the interpreter, my voice was also helping me, and clients do have a preference of the interpreter's voice, and often it is not the skill of the language but also the voice. After all, clients do have to listen to the interpreter's voice sometimes for a long time if it would be a long session. As a result clients would often choose an interpreter with a pleasant voice. I was often getting a comment "it is good to hear your voice". I guess it does sound comforting, if not anything, pleasant to listen to.
