I was an only child, (til I was 19) and loved movies, records, and TV. I entertained myself by imitating the characters, and one of the first I learned was Kermit the frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, etc...
I also loved anything with Rich Little, Jonathan Winters, any other imitators, and would imitate their characters.
In high school I performed, on stage, the entire skit about 4 Presidents playing cards as presented on Rich Little's record The First Family Rides Again.
(An aside, I caused trouble at a summer pre-college program imitating a student on the phone to some girls, they thought it was him, and he wouldn't talk to me the rest of summer.)
In school I had 3 years of Drama class, and performed 3 summers in a row in the musicals, Lil' Abner, Man of LA Moncha, and The Pirates of Penzance.
I also imitate, Yogi Bear, Winnie the Pooh, Goofy, Mickey, Droopy, Peter Lorre, a chipmunk, Liverpool (Beatles), and many more I have forgotten, or haven't learned yet.
Back in the day I was a strong first Soprano, (won a contest in choir for singing the highest note, and not even a soprano challenged me.) but as time has gone by I've been reduced (age/gravity) to a strong Tenor with leanings into 1st Alto.
I have always wanted to be able to use my talents, but was always afraid, grew up in rural life, and never had the ability to do more than live a 9-5 style existence with my wife who was a pre-school teacher, and I filmed/edited 2 local TV programs. One for 10+, and the other 5+ years.
Things have changed now that we sold our home, baught an RV, and live full time on the road. Now, if I have the money, I can go, and do most anything. I just found out about this web site, and thought maybe now's the time.
