I have a mid-range voice that has a teenage type of quality. My interest in voice-overs began after watching sports. As a result I started practicing with the anouncer style. I can do a baritone voice very easily (the vocal stylings of the band Type O Negative are the best example of how low I can go). Sometimes I practice doing voice-overs for movie trailers. Even though I enjoy the lower octaves, I gravitate toward high-pitched voices. When I started to develop my vocal skills, high-pitched vocal tones seemed to fit the easiest. Over time singing has become a part of exercise. I usually sing melodic rock. Songs that are moderatly difficult, occationally I'll try singing to music with female singers. Lately it's been a lot of Dio, Led Zepplin, Van Halen, Iron Maiden. Some modern hard rock like Deftones, Tool, Tim "Ripper" Owens. When I'm really warmed up i'll imitate Dani Filth from the band Cradle of Filth. One voice I've been practicing is the voice of Starscream from the first generation of Transformers. I can pick up foreign accents with some studying.
