I graduated for the Specs Howard School of Media Arts in April of 2010. While in school and for a brief time after graduation, I was the morning show intern at 94.7 WCSX Detroit. I worked under both a talk show format and a music based show, so I was able to gain valuable experience early on under both formats. At WCSX, I was in charge of recording sports games on a DVR and turning highlights into sound bytes for the sports director, again, gaining valuable experience editing clips for air use. After my eight months at Greater Media Detroit, I joined the CBS cluster working for WYCD. After a few months there, I was transferred to 97.1 The Ticket working in the Promotions Department. I really enjoyed working promotions because it gave me a chance to talk with clients and really get an understanding for what they wanted with not only an event, but from the station in general. Also, I was able to interact with listeners which was a really fun experience. I started to write for a Detroit sports web site (Website hidden) towards the end of my time at The Ticket. Writing turned into hosting an Internet sports web show called The Sports Truth, on the same site, which lasted for about 8 months. During the web show, I was also working at 93.5 WHMI in Howell, MI. I was their sports reporter, news reporter and overnight DJ. I spent a year and a half at WHMI and again, it was a fantastic experience. It gave me a chance to really work on my on air skills, become a better interviewer and I was able to become very comfortable on the mic. I worked at ESPN Detroit where I was the fill in on-air talent and hosted three hour shows both solo and as a co-host. Currently, I am the News Director at 103.9 WLEN in Adrian, Michigan.Read More
