Singing and performing have been a part of my life since before I can remember. I do remember around the time I decided I wanted to make it a career. I had just recorded my first jazz album at the age of 13. I had been singing a open mics all through my adolescence but started regularly performing at local restaurants, jazz clubs and private events. I was a young teenage girl going to school, meanwhile, working jazz gigs after school and on weekends as my extra curricular activities. I realized I could sing and perform for the rest of my life and be happy doing it. I had the opportunity to travel to Japan to represent Seattle as the ambassador of jazz in the high school division. Downbeat Magazine named me high school divisions best Jazz Vocalist in the nation. An award I also garnered later at the college division. But my most proud achievement in high school was being honored with the Ella Fitzgerald jazz vocalist award at the Essentially Ellington Jazz Festival (the Super Bowl of high school jazz competitions). This achievement led me to the opportunity to sing the national anthem for my own hometown's football team, the Seattle Seahawks (they won that game). So, I went to college to study music. I majored as a vocalist in Jazz Performance at The New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Ma. Throughout college I had many opportunities I moved back home in 2011 and have been actively working in the music industry as a singer, composer, producer, teacher and recording artist, since. Currently released four songs from my most recent album as of Feb. 2017. Resumé and demo are available upon request.
