Highlights

My natural speaking voice is a warm baritone, so I make a great public address announcer with that classic Disneyland-esque announcer voice if that's what you're looking for. But I am not just another generic baritone. I utilize a wide range in pitch, tone, timbre, rhythm, and mouth work to do a variety of voices, accents, and sounds (take a listen to my cartoon demo). Patrick Fraley has said, "Your demo shows a very impressive range... you have the goods." I can give you a deep warm sound, a high falsetto sound, and most anything in between. I am an excellent whistler and can also do a wide variety of sound effects and animal sounds. I have even dabbled in Tuvan throat singing (aka: khoomei, sygyt, polytonal singing, overtone singing - listen to my demo for an example).

Experience

I have been speaking since I was about 9 months old. I speak every day.

Seriously, though, in 2010 I was the narrator for a feature length film about the life of Michael Jackson produced in France, "Being Michael Jackson" by Karl Zero.

I have done voice over for TV, radio, and internet ads: most recently including American InterContinental University, Powerteam International, and Dehn's Innovations.

I have done video game voices: most recently multiple voices for the video game Wing Commander Saga: The Darkest Dawn.

I have done animation voice overs: most recently the voice of Giuseppe, an Italian teen imigrant for a Scholastic book trailer.

I did VO for an in-house training program for Experian, one of the 3 big credit rating companies.

I have voiced two election ads for (Website hidden). For the second spot, I also assisted in copy editing as well as edited/engineered the audio.

I have done live public address announcing for several years at the Orange County Race for the Cure.

I did imaging for Radio Lollipop; Children's Hospital Orange County.

My first foray into voice over was for the Snaidero USA Dealers' Conference introductory video, 2005. I also did copy editing, and video production for the video. I had to take lines that were previously poorly translated from Italian to English and make them intelligible.

Non-voice over experience that helps me do a good job:

As a substitute teacher, one of my other jobs includes a great deal of speaking and reading in front of children and teens. My other job is twisting balloon animals at parties. This requires keeping kids entertained. So, I understand the youth audience. They are a tough group and will eat you alive if you are boring, so being able to captivate them is a big plus. I also understand the education market.

I hold a BA in History and Anthropology and am an avid reader of scientific journals, so I have a working knowledge of academic, scientific, and technical subject matters.

I worked my way through college as a licensed pharmacy tech, so I am comfortable with medical and pharmaceutical jargon.

I played trumpet and french horn in my younger days, so I understand musicality, tempo, pitch, rhythm, and phrasing, which are as important in voiceover as they are in music.

I am also an excellent whistler, and can even perform the Tuvan throat singing styles known as kargyraa and sygyt. Listen to my whistling/throat singing demo for examples.

I won multiple acting awards and a directing award in high school.

My wife is in the marketing/PR field, so I understand the marketing side of this business. This helps me to interpret the copy and can be especially helpful when I am asked to rephrase or reword a line for optimum impact.
