Ken McKowen

Overview

Ken is a relatively new Voice, bringing with him many years of public speaking experience at conferences, teaching K-12 students, and giving radio and TV interviews, including book readings. He loves creating new voices and interpretations and reading stories to young students.

Service Description

In addition to VO recordings, if you require writing or editing assistance, Ken has been a professional writer for decades authoring national award winning travel books, speeches, PSAs, magazine articles, technical reports, general plans and more. And he and wife Dahlynn worked for 10 years assisting Jack Canfield with his Chicken Soup for the Soul book series, editing and creating numerous titles..

Experience

Ken has written produced and directed PSAs for California State Parks (a couple decades ago); Prerecorded radio interviews for published book promotions; and is currently working on two audio books, one fantasy fiction the second travel nonfiction.

Client List

Ken and wife Dahlynn owned Publishing Syndicate (no longer in the publishing business). Ken retains all rights to their books, and he is currently self-recording VOs of the first two of several audio book titles.

Education

Ken has been working with well-known Sacramento VO coach Ray Nakamoto (Nakamote Productions). Ken's formal education includes: BS: Environmental Resource Management; BA Journalism; MA: Creative Writing. Ken is a perpetual student also taking miscellaneous courses that include government and business to computer software apps, music and acting.
