Marlene Tucker is an author, actress, motivational speaker, singer, songwriter, hailing from Columbus, Ohio. She attended Bishop Hartley and North High School, Capital University (B.A.), Simmons Graduate School of Management, Leadership Columbus, Chamber of Commerce, Central Michigan University (M.S.A), and has attained PhD ABD status from Walden University.
Always wanting to become a better entertainer she has taken classes with Master Instructor Tasha Smith through the Actors Workshop where she learned the Ivana Chubbuck technique and furthered Improv training and recorded several videos with Rodney Perry. She believes in continued learning and education and has taken Voice Over training with Stevie Vallance (Los Angeles/Canada) and audio book training with Jeffrey Umberger. Marlene is the founder and host of Marlene’s Mannah Blog Talk Radio Show. Marlene co-produced and wrote a song titled “Who Ever Thought” in 2014 which is available on Reverb-Nation, Spotify, Sound Exchange, Sound Clip, and Radio Play. During the past 5 years, Marlene has been busy honing her acting skills.
Marlene has made a number of pro bono appearances in Atlanta most recently in a key monologue playing the role of an Octogenarian in “The Flood” an (Website hidden) production, Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues; matriarch role as Aunt Pat in an Atlanta play In-laws/Outlaws to an audience of more than 1200 (produced by James Brown II now available on YouTube) and played the role of Chelsea in an (Website hidden) production short film titled “Church Hurt”. Volunteer Mock Juror on 10 pilot episodes with during the nationally compelling trial of George Zimmerman vs. Trayvon Martin, CNN Headline News, After Dark; Extra assignments with OWN Network/Tyler Perry Productions in The Haves and Have Not’s (2013/2014), Devious Maids (2014), Tyler Perry’s Drama – If loving you is wrong (2014) and recently performed with national recording artists and has performed as an emcee for local plays in Atlanta, GA. Marlene aspires to perform in more notable film productions in the near future.
Marlene completed 34 years in the federal sector. She plans to finalize her book “New Beginning, A Glimpse into the Life of Marlene Tucker” which is in its final stages of production and will be available some time in 2015 where she depicts working in the warehouse as a single parent ultimately leading to White House assignments as captured in her published song “Who Ever Thought”.
