Marquette Soul Son Shaw was born in Dover, DE. He gained a love for music, dance, and acting around the age of nine. Starting as the lead dancer and then becoming a Master Dance Instructor in the style of West African dance. His dancing took him to Africa twice. He continued to dance throughout high school as well as sing. Having the opportunity to perform along side Broadway star Karen Curly (Chicago), & Megan Thomas (Cats), Ivan Flipz Velez (You Got Served) and movie star Christopher Peterson (Rat Race). He obtained the lead tenor position in middle school and held the position through college where attended Delaware State University. While pursuing a degree in Vocal Performance he continued to act. Taking the lead role in Dream Girls as Jimmy Early, and providing choreography for the play as well. After college he went on to perform around Delaware for Blacklight District, a live entertainment company. While traveling with Blacklight a painter by the name of Catherine Mercedes Walls was so moved by his performance she painted a 5 series painting based on his performance. Soon after Soul Son began to choreograph for a couple local artist which lead him to traveling up and down the East coast performing in NJ, N.Y., GA, VA, and more. This lead Soul to learning how the media and promo side of the business work when becoming the VP of an entertainment brand for about 6 years. Now Marquette Soul Son Shaw is a Dance Instructor and Enrichment Teacher for Creative Alliance. Working inside the after school program for Tench Tillman. He is currently working on is debut album set to be release early next year.
