Matthew Lien is a voice over artist, singer, musician and producer based in Canada's Yukon. His work knows no boundaries, working in both world-class studios and remote locations.
His vocal work and music has earned significant success overseas where his music is multi-platinum, his concerts attract 30,000, he's hosted several television programs and series, and his resume of voice work includes clients ranging from public and private broadcasters, documentary filmmakers, companies and government departments alike.
Lien was the first Canada artist to be an awards presenter at the internationally televised Golden Melody and Bell Awards (China, Taiwan and Singapore's Grammy- and Gemini-equivalent), and was the first North American to be nominated (9 nominations to date) and to win the award for his cross-cultural music works.
Lien has narrated several documentaries and presentations for the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society, and has hosted/narrated several television programs and series with cultural or environmental themes. When Taiwan's Public Broadcaster PTS cooperated with UK documentary director Nick Upton for their first HD channel production, they secured Lien for English narration on "Spirits of Orchid Island," which went on to win awards at international film festivals.
His work representing environmental and cultural issues has earned him appointments including Taiwan's Cultural Ambassador and Man of the Year by Esquire magazine (China edition).
Back home, he's been twice nominated and once won the WCMA, is a Parliamentary Certificate of Honour recipient for his audio-oriented humanitarian efforts abroad, and his accomplishments feature in the recent biography of Canada's ambassador to China.
