TOAST MASTERS PUBLIC SPEAKING EXPERIENCE, UNIVERSITY LEVEL LECTURER, EMOTE WELL, ENGLISH ( VARIOUS ACCENTS) FRENCH CANADIAN . GERMAN AND SPANISH WITH ENGLISH ACCENT
He was on Television and radio close to 30 times, as he became involved in a War Memorial incident in Ottawa . He received many calls of support and several noted that he had a great voice. It is deep, clear and convincing. (Website hidden) He has always loved accents and can imitate many convincingly. He speaks French fluently , with a Canadian Accent. He speaks German and Spanish ; with a foreign accent, which could be of interest to tourism agencies, for example, having a visitor describe a country in the local language . He emotes well which can be an asset. He is a dentist with considerable training in teaching and medical sciences . He was also an active member of Toastmasters, an excellent way to promote public speaking abilities. (Website hidden)/ this is a voice over for a trailer he was asked to present.
He is a keen "student' of advertising. This goes back to "The Hidden Persuaders" a book written by Vance Packard. He read it in High School and it opened up a fascinating world of advertising techniques and the subtleties involved. . On a Canadian Forces management course he was introduced to Dr Edward de Bono, a British /Maltese Neurophysiologist. He wrote such books as "Thinking outside the box" , "Water Logic" and " Lateral thinking" and many others. His approach to advertising, management and everyday creative thinking is to "Think outside the box." Logic is go from point A to point B and so on. De Bono teaches how we should from from A to B to seven then to blue etc...creative not linear. And finally a "hero" of his is Kevin Roberts, the retired CEO of 7 billion a year Saatchi and Saatchi , the "AD agency". He is a self made man. Michael saw him on CNN where he described how he quit school at a dead end when he was 16. Kevin Roberts went to London and worked at Mary Quant's fashion shop ( She developed / promoted the mini skirt) He worked in the shipping room. Now and then he would give them ideas on how to present an item in the store window or on the shelves. His creativity lead to many ad agency promotions . His feeling is that a good ad is based on Emotion not information. When he watches TV or read an ad this is always something he notes. Bell Canada had a great ad on the 2004 anniversary of D-Day. A young man with a cell phone is on a beach. He calls his grandfather back home. In the background behind the grandfather are fade pictures of a young man in uniform. The boy tells him he is in France. The grandfather asks if the girls are as pretty as he remembers. The lad smiles and says yes then ads" Grandfather, I just want to thank you for what you did for us" Then a Bell cell phone motto appears in a corner. And a voice over says . With Bell you can use them in many countries. Michael is still emotional when he thinks of this advertisement and he remembers it was promoting Bell....Michael feels emotion and enthusiasm will be a key in his approach to voice over work.Read More

Dr Michael Pilon was flexible and amenable to my direction and delivered the goods promptly and courteously. His voice is warm and expressive and I would recommend him highly.
Friendly and professional
I really enjoyed working with Mike as he provided the voice over role of the Father character on my short film entitled Instinct. Mike was a joy to be around and was very open to various interpretations of how each line would be delivered. Additionally, his ability to create accents from around the globe Was really quite spectacular. I would highly recommend Mike Pilon for any voice over, narration or character needs! One of the reasons I love the independent film industry, is because I get to meet wonderful, talented, people.Vincent Valentino - Feature Filmmaker on face book
Michael Pilon is such a person, he immediately makes you feel at home on set and has a voice that can make you melt.
He has tremendous presence, acquired only through wisdom and experience, and it shows.
He is a presence that is lacking in today's film and voice acting.
He is an original, and one glimpse at his work, will immediately show this.
Kind and gentle, and yet a towering inferno if need be, this is an actor I will definitely work with again, and soon.
As he adds an authenticity to my work, and as my standards for my films increase, so does my necessity for actors like Michael Pilon.
