I have a very deep voice which I understand is both soothing and at the same times projects confidence and authority. My natural style of speaking is suited to unscripted story-telling I improvise very well on many subjects I am familiar with and lecturing or public speaking comes very naturally to me and usually is received very well (though these are on subjects I am very familiar with e.g. conservation, humanitarian or environmental issues, ethics, politics, science etc.). A potential weakness may be that I do not deliver strictly structured scripts as well at short notice; however with time to practice I believe this would not be a great issue. I seem to be able to inspire, motivate and educate people when speaking, though this may be due to fluency in my subject matter - I have always felt that it was in large part due to the impact my voice has on audiences. At the same time I am not a professional voice-over artist and more than rusty at delivering scripts; however when I do radio interviews or the like - the quality of my voice is almost always remarked on.
Lastly any speaking fees I might be able to generate in voice-over work would be given entirely as a donation to one of the numerous environmental or orangutan charities I work with or have founded.
I understand that my voice is, if not unique, then at least rare. I'm sincere and articulate and generate good 'buy-in' to the audiences I speak with (and a large part of my job is public speaking at which I'm fairly successful). My voice may be a significant factor in my success at public speaking; but any prospective client would need to assess whether my voice or delivery of script would be of interest to them as I have little commercial experience as a voice over artist.Read More
Many years ago I provided the voice over for a couple of television advertisements in the UK as well as recording several automated telephone services for corporate services and customer care hotlines.
For the last 11 years I have been working as a conservationist in Borneo and as part of the role lecture and fund raise as a speaker internationally. I have featured in numerous conservation documentaries and have provided voice over commentaries (free-of-charge) for conservation or animal-welfare themed documentaries and advertorials many of which can be viewed f.o.c. online
No credentials that are industry related other than having appeared on radio and television many times as part of my work as a conservationist mostly being interviewed or working with documentary crews.
