Up until the age of 50, I had a beautiful singing voice, but on my 50th Birthday I had major neck surgery to have two titanium cages on my cervical spine to protect my spinal chord. A simple 1.5 hour surgery turned into 10.5 hours, because fate winds were blowing against my Karma. When I awoke Everything was fine until I tried to speak. My voice was (Website hidden)w the nerve to my vocal chords was (Website hidden) two years, I literally had no (Website hidden) I'm not a quitter, and having worked at The Ohio State University as a Research nurse for the Anesthesiology Department finally paid off. I had made friends and knew the process and started begging for my problem to be investigated by The Research Team of the ENT class. It was 2 years before I got the letter saying they had something ready for me to try, the following week in August of 2013 I had the first successful laryngeal implant! I was talking before I was out of the OR! Now, I never want to shut up! My voice is not the same though. It is much lower, and my singing voice is awful:(
But I am the proud receiver of a successful ENT research project which developed a method to speak (Website hidden), I've had this voice for 3 years, this August!

I fell in January of 2015 and have been disabled since. I had worked as a RN for 33 years, and had paid my own way since my first College Graduation from Ohio University=Zanesville in 1982. My BSN degree came after years of struggle in 1999. I am still a nurse at heart, it is just part of me. I would love to have a job, which I could perform myself and be able to pay for myself (Website hidden) Voice over gig sounds like it just may be in my Wheelhouse of ABILITIES!
