Mrs. Ericka Banks is a native Washingtonian, the oldest of five children, a 32 year veteran Music Teacher in Prince George's County Public Schools, a Minister of the Gospel, singer, writer, wife, and a mother. Mrs. Banks has been involved in public speaking and the performing arts since her years at Duke Ellington School of The Arts in Washington, DC where she majored in English and Vocal Music. Upon graduating from Duke Ellington in 1989, Mrs. Banks continued her studies in the performing arts at Bowie State University, earning her Bachelors of Arts in Music Education. Mrs. Banks graduated on May 11, 2013 from Howard University’s School of Divinity earning her Masters of Arts in Religious Studies. Mrs. Banks is currently finishing her second Masters, online at American College of Education, in Administrative Leadership.
Mrs. Banks has provided the voice of the morning and afternoon announcements for Ardmore Elementary School for the past twenty years. Mrs. Banks also facilitates the interview process for her school as well as creates the interview questions for each potential employee. She has serves as a welcome/announcement clerk and editing member of the HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE HILL communication Ministry for First Baptist Church of Highland Park since 1995 and 2017 respectively. Mrs. Banks is a highly sort after Mistress of Ceremonies for various church/secular events. Mrs. Banks was selected to represent the financial ministry in FBHP’s new members orientation video. Mrs. Banks has long desired to expand her professional performance resume to include more voice over work. Now that Mrs. Banks will be retiring from the school system in the next five-six years at the young age of fifty-six, she is looking to start a second career as a voice actor.
