About Shelley Neate

Overview

I am a recently retired Physical Therapist, who has now trained to do Voice Over Acting. I have recently done commercials for a small local radio station in Reno and have a 30+ year history of doing live trainings for hospitals, government agencies, business and community organizations. I have a warm voice, that is able to reflect a wide span of ages and emotions. Because of my background in the medical field I am comfortable with medical terminology, and technical information. Educational, training audios, narratives and commercial work are all within my range. I am active in serving my community through Rotary. I am also a fiber artist: weaver, spinner, knitter, and quilter.

Experience

Since I have began doing Voice Over Acting this past year, I have done several 30 second radio commercials, recorded at the station. They were for a home insurance/financial agency, an adult day care center and a home health agency. As a Physical Therapist and Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist, my own company contracted with Monterey County in California to provide Ergonomic Trainings to their employees. These were generally one or two hour classes. I have also taught small classes in weaving, knitting, and a Japanese braiding/weaving technique called Kumihimo.
