Evette Murphy

Burbank, California, US

Highlights

Evette brings just that right panache to your project! She works hard to understand your story to make every voice believable. The flexibility in her bright and versatile voice produces deliveries that are fun, enthusiastic, energetic, and sincere. She can give you the voice of a baby, a young child, a teen, adult, an elder, multiple characters, and even a chicken! She can also accent them with a sophisticated British or Southern charm, or a less than sophisticated Southern draw or working class Cockney. She has a great ear and picks up quickly on accents and sings on key. She is ready to try anything and give her very best. Whether it's for a commercial, animation, cartoon, narration, puppets, audio book, radio, promo, film or video game, Evette can tell your story just the way you imagined, or even better!

Experience

Evette’s very first VO job was in 2005 on a looping project replacing the voice of a waitress in an independent film. That year she also had acting roles in 3 independent films (one which has an IMDB credit), and 3 student films. During that same time, her young daughter became a very successful SAG and AFTRA commercial and voice talent, and she spent a lot of her time managing her daughter’s auditions and gigs. Evette had the fortunate opportunity to be in the booth while her daughter worked and to get loads of experience behind the scenes, which included recording some of her auditions from home using one of the first USB microphones, the Blue Snowball, and editing with Audacity and submitting for roles, some of which she booked. In 2008 Evette volunteered with AIRS-LA where she again had a most fortunate opportunity to take instruction from great masters such as Ed Fallen, Max Flehinger, and Steven Heller. She was responsible for 5-10 minutes of content each week, which required her to find/create the content, record it, edit it, and upload it. “These guys kept me on track and taught me so much!” She also has Voice Over training from Marc Cashman, Janet Wilcox at UCLA Extension, and Susan Palyo at VoiceTrax West. She has taken voice lessons from Pat Whiteman and Roger Burnley. She has taken numerous acting classes and a commercial acting workshop, which include The Beverly Hills Playhouse, Second City, John Homa, Jeff Dockweiler, Toni Attell, and Henry Leblanc.
