Ever since I was a child, I've always found a great sense of joy in characterizing different voices, accents, and characters. Whether they were impersonations or self-fabricated. From then on, I find myself utilizing my talent on a day-to-day basis for comic relief. Whether it be friends, family, colleagues, or even strangers... hundreds throughout my lifetime have been amazed at out convincingly genuine these personas sound. They're not just voices, but characters actually brought to life. To me, the key is convincing my self that in that moment, I am that person. I've been told that I am a hidden talent that should not go to waste. I find it very entertaining to utilize my skill by playing around with it. In situations, for example, when a telemarketer calls and I decide to take on one of these personas at random. I like to toy with them until they've reached their boiling point and finally disconnect the call. It brings quite the entertainment to an audience of friends or colleagues. Another example is simply exercising my ability to perform more serious tasks such as calling in to a call center about a bill or perhaps going to Starbucks to buy a coffee. Another highlight being the act of reading to small children in a dramatized manner, bringing multiple different characters to life in one story... which I feel is one of the best ways to get them to laugh. It's all fun to me! Point being: I genuinely embrace my talent and have fun with it for what it is. Not only is there the joy in simply the voices themselves, but also the acting aspect that goes hand-in-hand. It's one thing to just read lines from a script. It's another to bring life and meaning to those words. All of this being said, I feel it's about time I use my skill to my advantage in a professional manner. I feel it's time to transform a joy into a passion.
