Sjors Houkes is a versatile Dutch voice actor and voiceover with 15 years of experience, who specialises in compelling storytelling for broad audiences. He focuses especially on education, museums and e-learning.
Sjors originally comes from the Utrecht region in the Netherlands, but now lives and works in Berlin. After completing his Master's degree in Film Studies at Utrecht University, Sjors wanted to work more practically rather than theoretically, which led him to train as a voice actor in Leiden. His hands-on experience in films, games and animation helped him apply his voice acting skills, which he has been doing professionally since 2009.
After moving to Berlin in 2013, his Dutch voice without a regional accent proved to be extremely suitable for international projects where a broad target group needed to be addressed. His clear and warm voice is reassuring, convincing and reliable. He is particularly in demand for projects in the cultural sector, e.g. for museums and educational projects, but he also enjoys doing animations, audiobooks and commercials. Sjors also speaks German and English well, and is a competent translator between German, English and Dutch.
