Kristopher Trader

Manchester, New Hampshire, US

I've always looked to be able to figure out the physical dynamics of how to make specific sounds. Singing was always my main interest growing up. I would take my favorite cd at the time or favorite tv show and emulate the singers and characters. Spending days on days recording myself performing the techniques of others to experiment with what my vocal chords are capable of. My voice is smooth but I'm able to produce grittier tones. I can talk over smooth jazz or be the gritty voice over for an action film. Low and high notes are no issue. I'm very flexible from being able to falsetto notes to more baritone scales. From playing in metal bands since I was 16 I have the ability to project very well.

I've always been interested in the flexibility of the human vocal chords. Since I was a child I did impersonations of singers, cartoon characters, and celebrities. I sing for an experimental progressive band where I do vocals that range from metal/screaming, to jazzy clean singing, as well as a number of other sound effects. I also do a style of throat singing adapted from that Mongolian throat singing. I've recorded and self produced three hip-hop albums as well so my ability to enunciate has been a huge focus with that project. The hip-hop project also has helped me experimenting more with the cartoon voices and being able to convey my message through proper inflection. I'm also in 3 different bands right now. 2 metal bands with which I mostly scream and make gross guttural sounds. Doing my best to sound inhuman and one where I emulate singers close to Robert Plant and Chris Cornell.
