Spencer has a warm, mature voice, well suited to instructional, educational or corporate scripts. Spencer is also capable of adding a bit of "barbecue" flavor to travel narratives or product commercials. Spencer's style has also been describes as wistful and nostalgic. Also, in his lower vocal range, Spencer can give scripts a sinister spin. He can add music and/or effects to your voice track, and can consult on your script if that's what you need. Plus, he's very easy to work with. His intro to the world of voiceover was through his years as a broadcast copywriter for Focus On The Family, a nationally-syndicated daily broadcast featuring Dr. James Dobson. Spencer wrote dramatic vignettes for broadcast openers, as well as teasers, promos and image spots. In this role, he hired SAG voice artists to voice his scripts. Spencer's commercial and narration demos were recorded in March, 2011, when he decided to launch into voiceover. In October, 2011, he met the woman who would become his wife. They married and a few months later they bought a house which needed major renovation. Spencer built his wife a dog-grooming shop in a portion of the garage as well as handling much of the renovation in the main house. Consequently, he was away from voiceover until April, 2013.
