Charlene has extensive experience in theatre, radio, documentaries, on hold telephone, children's stories and TV. She has a varied radio background, having worked at the SABC (South African equivalent of BBC), for a number of years where she also read books on air for the blind. Charlene has worked in theatre for most of her adult life and has had the privilege of playing some of the great women in literature. For example, Blanche in "Street Car", Martha in "Virginia Wolf" and even Florence Unger in "The Odd Couple" to name just a few. She naturally has a British sound which works really well for upscale, professional, educated voice over work. She also has a soothing quality to her voice which helps when reading compassionate or human interest pieces. Has also had experience with on hold telephone scripts for doctor's offices and is therefore not intimidated by medical terminology. Children's stories are also one of her strong suites.Read More

Charlene's VO was the first audition we heard and we instantly knew she was the one for the job! The sound quality delivery was excellent and her turnaround times were fast.
She is great and hit our "Cheeky" voiceover out of the park!!
Great with communication and letting us know if she would be unavailable in advance so our deadlines were never affected. Was great with feedback and so easy to work with!
