I have a conversational mid-range voice with the ability to go into lower registers if needed. Not a high-pressure sales voice, but a voice like your neighbor, a voice with a smile or a laugh. I enjoy taking direction, and have been known to get the sound a director/client is looking for in a minimal number of takes. I can also read copy at a pace that fits time restraints without sounding \"sped up.\" My diction and enunciation are quite good, and I can handle $10 words so that they sound conversational.

Although I list myself as a beginner, I have spent a great deal of my working life in both commercial and public radio and in local public television. I've worked diverse formats, from free-form rock to country, jazz and new age to classical. I've narrated instructional programs for public television as well as documentaries and magazine series. I've also done local commercial voice-over work for banks, automotive dealerships, and other vendors and products. But this was all a lifetime ago, before I moved from my native Mississippi to Los Angeles, where I wrote and co-produced network and cable television programming for 15 years. I would like to get my voice chops back in shape and see where I might take myself in today's market.
