As I constantly hear, my voice is unique. There is something to it that makes people need to know where it is from, including everyone where I grew up. I don't know what the variation to it is, but it is a daily conversation in my life.
For the first 30 years of my life, living in the same small state, every new person I met wanted to know where I was from. For the last 15 I live all over, ride ski chairlifts all day, work in some public capacity where I constantly meet new people. My voice is a non stop topic of conversation. On Vail chairlifts I've been told, I'm telling you I'm in the business, sell your voice. I'll be all bundled up in new ski clothes, sit on a lift and say hi to someone, and they'll reply I met you 2 years ago, from me saying hi. A while ago I read about voice work and it said the most successful voice people never thought about it, but were constantly directed there. That seems to be me. In constant conversations about my voice, I say when I hear my voice I don't even like it and I always get a sincere reply of, oh no you have a very nice voice. Listen to my voice, you'll see what I hear about all day everyday.
