Speaking has always been a passion of mine, at 8 years old I developed a love of other languages. I was fascinated with how someone can change not only their voice from one language to another, but how they actually change their accent, how their jaw moves, and how they can change their thinking to switch from language to language. When I was 15, I was fortunate enough to spend my summers in China learning Chinese. My experience as a young woman going to China alone not being able to speak a word of Chinese was eye opening. I learned that we all take cues from those around us, that we change our habits based on not just where we live, or how we grow up, but also by the people who come into our lives everyday. I started learning how to change my voice to fit in, and to stand out. I learned how to manipulate my voice to change mid-sentence from one language or accent to another. So it is precisely because of this, that I want to try my hand at voice acting. I hope to learn even more about how the voice works and how people can change who they are based entirely on their language and voice.
