An unusually deep natural vocal register (basso profundo) and smooth voice quality allows Samuel to employ the power of a very low bass without the gruffness most basses must use. This allows far more subtle use of dynamics, to avoid the “over-acting” that comes with straining beyond one’s natural range. Subtle, natural dynamics, smooth, gentle texture, combined with the effortless power of a deep bass result in a voice that is at the same time compelling and gentle, dynamic and thoughtful, captivating and reassuring. And that is a rare combination. I especially like to do documentaries and educational pieces.

My earliest voice training and experience came through choir and theatre in high school, although the majority of my experience was in lecturing university English for six years (composition and literature).
I also presented at regional and international academic conferences.
In my voice-over work I focus primarily on narration, including corporate content (both public and internal), training material, informational videos, etc, but I also sometimes accept work on audio books, documentaries, and even occasional commercial work.
I do have experience in the deadline-oriented corporate world (oil production accounting), where projects have schedules, and communication is essential. So if you don’t have time to deal with theatre majors, if you want your project done right, on time, and professionally, please consider a business relationship with Samuel Unger at Foundation Voice Services.
Foundation Voice Services provides professional talent with professional equipment, and you may expect professional service.

My voice and training make me particularly suited for work with documentary narrations, eLearning modules, corporate training, product demos, corporate internal products, video narration, website audio, client information pieces, phone services, on-hold messages business presentations, etc., but I also accept some commercial work, movie and game trailers, video games, and certain character voices (limited somewhat by my deep vocal range).
One of my specialties is in reading Scripture, older literature, and “dry” academic content, where a barrier of unfamiliarity requires understanding and enthusiasm on the part of the reader to bring the text to life for the listener.
Also, such texts often employ much longer sentences than are common today, requiring a familiarity with convoluted grammatical constructions not often found except in English teachers. Fortunately I lectured on English composition and ancient literature on the university level for six years, so I have a sufficient knowledge of such material.
(As a side note, my academic background permits me to offer editing services as well.)
