I have a lot of experience in creating wonderful character voices and creatures for all kinds of projects, serious, comic, cartoon, scary, magical, alien, heroic and many more. I voiced many of the male lead puppet characters for a mobile marionette theatre group and I can be heard as the featured voice (and the singing chorus) on the lighthearted reminder for pancake day - 'Yum! Pancake Day!' on YouTube. I've been heard along the Mersey estuary as part of the Mersey Ferries information channel in Liverpool. I can also offer a strong, professional, natural voice for business, educational, factual and advertising, narration and interactive. I am versatile and naturally conversational however as I am often asked to lecture to College and University students I have the ability to be able to clearly explain matters in an instructional manner. As an educationalist I have lectured at Salford University and Priestley College, Warrington as well as presenting to a wide variety of audience’s such as the BBC, CBeebies, Thomas Cook, Mersey Ferries, P&O Cruises, the National Fire Safety Charity for Children. I always try to grasp a solid understanding the content of a script so that I can use that understanding in the way I present information to an audience. My work designing Nintendo Wii prototypes, games and apps for such well loved children’s properties such as 'Roary The Racing Car', 'Fifi and the Flowertots', 'Cloudbabies', 'Little Charley Bear' and 'Poppy Cat’ gives me a unique perspective on vocal work in that field too. My very wide variety of character abilities allows me to take on multiple roles and deliver the most memorable characters, serious, funny, gleeful, evil, haunting, deathly or otherwise. In my voice I can create excitement, tension, worry, apprehension, fear, loathing, heroic, warm, the feeling of knowledge, experience, surprise, I can sound understated, overstated, free, rhythmic, action packed energy, trust in fact anything your brief requires. I studied acting as a career at University, qualified as a teacher of drama, toured with a theatre in education group around primary/elementary schools in the North West of England (UK) and later as the lead male in a mobile puppet company. I can be a heard as the Captain's voice at the ss Great Britain Museum (England, UK), commanding the public to steer a true course on Brunnel's most famous iron ship interactive installation. I have often been asked to create the wonderful persona of Santa Claus - Father Christmas, bringing delight to children and parents alike. I can act off another voice artist if required, or solo. I am able to voice to picture and undertake post sync work. I am able to turn my voice to numerous fun and cartoon styled vocal sounds, monster grunts, in different styles, horrific, alien, cartoon, ghostly, for sound effects and background tracks, crowds, chorus's, individual hecklers and more. I can quickly record and edit into finished voice tracks, guide tracks, multiple layered characters, singing as a solo or create a chorus effect of multiple voices. I have access to two home studios and can quickly put together a demo or audition if requested. I can also mimic accents for comedic purpose, including some general localisation in the UK, including Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, countryside yokel, comic posh. My voice can sound like Ian McEllen, Patrick Stewart, Sean Connery and other statesman like actors if asked. I am able to bring an elderly like timbre into my voice for such characters or reads.
