Erik Williams has quietly amassed 30+ years of musical experience as a songwriter/producer..
He has known music since his youth as early as 4 years old. Taught the basic pattern of James Brown’s COLD SWEAT on the drums at 5 yrs old, a musical madman was prematurely unleashed. His natural sense of rhythm was quickly recognized. Throughout his early years, he was exposed to the aspects of lyric writing & the recording studio as his oldest brother’s session drummer for demos that were presented and accepted by 70’s soul group B.T. Express. This lead to him becoming a songwriter/producer by the time he was 8 years old. As he reached his early teens, a new local phenomenon took over called HIP-HOP, and record crates, pause tapes, turntables and mixers became his weapons of choice. After an initial attempt to be a DJj, he “accidently” found yet another hidden talent as an MC. Naming himself “Baby E”, then later as “The Mastermind Jazz-E”, he quickly built a local reputation by having the ability to MC “off the top of his head” at any given moment.
As the years progressed in his life, he steadily honed his various self-taught skills, and built his pre-production studio, and MIDI became his next weapon of choice. During this time, he had worked with various artist such as Cheryl the Pearl(of "The Sequence" [female rap group]), Vertical Hold, and Juelz Santana in his early teens.
After being called upon by associate Jennifer McKillop to do a few "hip hop styled" remakes of some classic children's nursery rhymes for an event she hosted for a child care center in Atlanta, he discovered the world of voice overs, and he stumbled upon what he feels is his current calling; Voice Actor.
