About Joan Durand
Overview
My voice is genuine, low, and articulate, with no discernible accent. It's the voice of an American woman who has performed as a singer in rock and cabaret, an announcer in the US Army, and a radio talk show host for Martha Stewart's Sirius Radio channel.

I created and hosted a one hour weekly radio show for Martha Stewart's Sirius Radio channel (Startups with Joan Durand). I recorded a voice over for a local television commercial in Nashville, TN. I was an on-air announcer for closed-circuit television and radio broadcast while enlisted in the US Army. I voiced a minor character for the PBS documentary 'Napoleon', produced by David Grubin. I've recorded upcoming event bulletins for the 92nd Street Y in NYC and telephone prompts for an architectural firm in Nashville, TN. I graduated with a B.A. in Communication and Theater from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
