I have founded produced and written for three small original theater spaces in the last four decades, allowing me to create a wild variety of diverse characters. My expensive background as a teacher and a member of several improvisational companies, two of which made me a good living at the time I believe also are great Assets in this particular area of the business as Both my ability to think on my feet and my natural comic bent, seemed to be to everyone's great advantage when I was doing extensive steady voiceover work on the West Coast .

At the risk of having to downright Bragg I also was constantly told by at least a dozen different producers/ advertising execs ,that I was one of the fastest Direction takers, both literally TimeWise do understand and redirect the new wants as well as nail over there were saying however abstract again I think this comes from the fact that I'm obsessive book reader at podcast listener and I love language but my own rather hyperactive nature is not one that knows how to Chisel and I actually love to take Direction and just surf thru whatever someone is asking me . I'm a little bit of an unusual performer because I've never had that tiger like ambition but I've been gifted with some natural gifts and so my time has always been spent kind of pushing against what could be so much easier where I could just go with the flow instead of my perhaps premature hippie dim and love of small towns in rural areas which clearly you never mind for those last 20 years did not do much although I was able to work off and under it Actors Equity contract for anything to do with Screen Actors Guild or aftra all of which I belong to . I also am so used to living on so little and like to be easy to hire so not wanting to defy the union which I do believe in but I was off and willing to take less or give it back or give more time just because I love doing voice-over work and there was so little of it we all know it's a great gig matter where you're doing it needless to say my 25 years of Vermont have spiralled down to wanting a huge change after lot of research transition and I am ready eager available and I believe probably more skilled than I was in terms of being able to take on anything you could throw me and the direction executing with great specificity.... I still have one voiceover tape mostly from actual commercial side dated years ago although it's old I can't say my voice is changed all that much I'm a character actress so I have no problem sharing that I think it's like 3 or 4 minutes long and maybe 12 or 15 characters on it that I still do some of which were theater character siren but I think that would show my diversity and flexibility And as time is always money, I was clearly well appreciated and receive ongoing compliments regarding how few takes it took to nail what was being asked of me.
Of course the humorous side of that - is, like most of us, our eccentricities or particular skills which in other Arenas do NOT work to my advantage, such as my ability to talk faster than people can understand ,as well as my... "hyperactivity", for lack of a better description, suddenly became attributes in this particular setting, to my great surprise!!
Otherwise I come with an attitude of wanting to learn and understanding that it's important to listen carefully to what the client is looking for and to take risks, or do whatever is necessary to achieve.
I am not a money hungry person, I've lived in rural Vermont too long now... so much as a money challenged person being in arts and education most of my life . I am currently a middle aged woman, just having just come out of my fair share of life's Hard Knocks and parents caretaking excetera for the last few years and so ready to get back to work I cannot tell you willing to travel anywhere take any kind of risk nothing to lose anymore wanting almost complete and total change in every area and Life Changes including where I live..what I do for a living coming out of several years now of parent caretaking and my own personal illness challenges which have someone stopped me i
All that to say that QUALITY, both for the client but especially for me, doing the best I can it's all important as I've had the first and only detour in 45 years from my creative life and very eager to get back to it.
I only include this information to stress that leaving that I actually have an innate ability in this particular end of the industry and that I would be a commodity not is first and foremost to me vs how much I'm being paid or how much time it might take.
I'm very easy to work with , have a great sense of humor, lots of patience and Im willing to try just about anything. I can't honestly say there are that many things I completely Excel at quite so naturally or that I don't have to work especially hard at to even be mediocre but in the areas of which I have described I have been gifted in this is pretty much where I need to stay comedy language voice over work theater everything else is just too much of an effort and doesn't make me feel as good as my work does in this end of the industry. I believe my years and years of professional performance and a wide variety from Children's Theater to Shakespeare as well as dozens and dozens of original one women shows I've done in Manhattan, winning both emerging artist of the Year Awards as well as rave reviews in the New York Times, makes it a winning combination for the both of us, as I come with confidence and experience and a real appreciation and joy in this particular art form.
