After auditioning every student in the school, the 6th grade music teacher where I attended elementary school in Fairbanks, Alaska chose me to be the female lead in the Christmas play, Ahmal and the Night Visitors. I took third place in the 2010 Great Alaska Vocal Competition with Cole Porter's Be a Clown. As I sing while working my part time job as a food server at the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel and the Hotel Captain Cook, people stop to listen, tell me I have a great voice, and tip me for singing. After performing Over the Rainbow by Arlen and Harburg for an assembly at the Houston Middle School where I was the librarian, two teachers separately approached me and told me that while their attention was directed at controlling the students on the bleachers, they thought a CD of a professional singer was being played until they looked around and saw me on the gym floor singing. Each year for the past 3 years I sing for the Alaska Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Wasilla. Every summer I perform at the Saturday and Sunday Market in Anchorage, sing at ball games, and on the Colony Stage at the Alaska State Fair.
