About

Overview

Over 200 5 star reviews

With over 20 years' experience in every medium Marilla brings a high level of expertise to every job. If you want an attractive, luxurious and professional voice, contact Marilla!

Marilla's stock-in-trade is RP (standard BBC English) and that's where she does a lot of her work in B2B, industrial, narration, e-learning and audiobooks. She's won the highest award for radio commercial voice work in Canada (a Gold Crystal), is the AI voice of the computer in the reality television show Panic Button and last year was shortlisted for Best Factual Audiobook and Best Corporate/Explainer at the OneVoice Awards in London.

She is a professional on-screen dialect coach (Reign, Designated Survivor) and you can call on her for any British accent. You name it - she can do it. Her first professional voice gig was playing a 14 year old Cockney prostitute (at the age of 25) for BBC Radio 4's Drama Department and she's played everything from a Glaswegian nanny in commercials to a Brummie alcoholic single mom in television plus everything in-between.

Although she also does on-camera work, theatre and stand-up comedy, voice work is her first and one true love.

The voices she gets booked for most are:
Young adult British - youthful, cheerful, enthusiastic, conversational
Middle-aged British - sincere, trustworthy, warm, confident, professional, authent

Testimonials

Marilla is one of the best artists we have worked with. She nailed the script delivery with little direction. We needed this project recorded with a 24 hr turn around which she did without any hassle. We would recommend her without hesitation. We look forward to working with her again!

Further Learning Group

Marilla was amazing. She hit the right tone for the piece, even auditioning using multiple accents, which she did brilliantly and changed my mind of what accent i originally thought would fit. Will be using Marilla again in the future. Quick turn around and very professional Voice over.

Paul Wingfield
