I would say I took a self teaching approach when it came to learning how to voice acting ever since I was little. I would read certain comic books out load, try to imitate certain cartoon character voices, and would experiment with my voice to see what I could and couldn't do.

Around 2006, I decided to venture into the world of online voice acting, first with the Voice Acting Club, then a year later, with the Voice Acting Alliance, which I have had the most success. Through the VAA, I landed roles in a number of internet-based radio dramas and made some good friends along the way

I have taking classes for the past two and a half years in order to further better myself and learn some new techniques

I have also done a good number of audio books that are on sale at Audible, Amazon, and Itunes

"The range of character voices were great. He didn't just give them a voice, he gave them each individual personalities." -Excerpt from a review on

"Can I just say that you sounded exceptionally great on this audio book, and really made the characters come to life; you really should be working for Disney, you're a real pro. Someone here was actually crying with laughter when they heard your recording about Stan in love." -Tom Slemen, on my work for The Cats of Salisbury Road part 1

"Nicholas Patrella is a superb narrator/producer I was pleased to work with. He has an amazing vocal range and performed the different characters in my novel with distinctive voices, accents and personalities, each different from the other. Equally impressive is his ability as an actor, not merely reading the text but performing it vividly, with verve and energy that brought the printed words to life and created in essence an audio movie of the adventure. He gave the words an excitement and richness that made it come alive." Gary Alan Ruse, author of Morlac and Jolly Roger

"Nicholas Patrella nailed the narration for this gritty and sometimes brutal crime noir and didn't miss a beat throughout. I think his narration and pacing really added to the tale and I will be looking out for more stuff from both the author and narrator of this one. 4 Stars and Highly Recommended." -A costumer review for White Flamingo by James A. Newman
