Growing up in a small, predominantly Irish part of Boston, Noreen Lowney has always had a free flowing creative streak. Even as a young gymnast, her fluidity, and flexibility in movement foreshadowed a life in the arts. Winning many Archdiocese Art Fairs for her drawing skills was just the beginning. She had the heart of an artist and while she was infatuated with the idea of acting or singing, another art form was calling. And it was visual.
Heading for New England School of Art & Design, she studied illustration and fine art. Moving to San Diego in her 20’s was a leap of faith based on a childhood dream. “My sister was a marine biologist when I was young so I have an obsession with sharks and the ocean.”
Honing her skills in creating stunning, visual imagery, Noreen’s path led her to high profile advertising and design jobs on both the East and West Coasts. She’s been an Art Director primarily in the Beauty industry for the past 14 years. I've been fortunate enough to work with some of the best fashion and beauty photographers in the business. It’s thrilling to be a part of creating something beautiful.”
Reaching a pinnacle, her expression is naturally progressing. Noreen is expanding her creative palette, pursuing one of the first forces to move her. Her passion has turned to performance. Having studied Meisner film acting with Nancy Chartier and voice acting in Bruce Carey’s master class, she adores creating unique, quirky characters. And “creating a scene” has taken on a new meaning. Noreen finds time to give the animals around her plenty of love and believes in fostering a green and peaceful planet.
