I have worked in local television news for 18 years. For the past 7 years, my TV station has employed me as a part-time reporter.
Three and a half years ago I had the privilege of shooting and editing a sponsorship proposal video for NASCAR driver David Ragan. I submitted a preliminary version of the video using my own voice just as a sample, intending to find a "professional" voice for the completed project. The producers of the video told me the voice was perfect, "don't change a thing". The Ragan team is still using this same video to this day as they continue to add sponsorships to their racing team.
Last summer I read a cold audition for a radio drama. From this one audition I was cast as the lead character in a 3-part series. 11 hours of recording in one day led to the finished product: a professionally-produced drama on radio and CD telling the exciting story of a geographic expedition to the site of the largest volcanic eruption in America in the last 100 years (complete with a crazy scene where I'm screaming at the top of my lungs while dreaming about a bear attack!)
