Robert Wiebe

Winnipeg, Manitoba, CA

I've always been described as a crisp, clear, baritone. Many of my morning show listeners would say ”Rob, your voice is very soothing... very strong and dynamic.” If you're looking for a narrator for business, children's stories, a variety of accents, several cartoon or an original character, in need of a PSA or concert/event emcee... I also sing in many styles and emcee live events so take your pick and let's see success come your way!

I blame it on TV. I was hooked on cartoons at a very early age, ALWAYS mimicking what I heard. My father noticed and got me singing and entertaining in our living room. By the time I was 15 I had recorded a radio show with my friends. Always taking the opportunities to speak and sing in church. As a factory worker, my co-workers were always entertained and made requests for impersonations, sound effects or songs. They took it upon themselves to sign me up for a national competition. I've been a part of dozens of volunteer church and student projects. I love to volunteer at local schools for reading month and see the glow in children's eyes when they recognize different characters.

In 2010 I auditioned for a job as a Voice Talent for a local radio station and got the job even though I had little or no experience or training. I started as the morning anchor. Part of my job at the radio station was to voice commercial spots at various times in various characters, as well as normal reads. As I voiced more spots for various clients, it became my favorite part of the job.

On-the-job training at the radio station which I spoke of in the previous frame. It's been a part of my life for almost 35 years. With the on air experience and some production experience, I am my own voice director in my personal home studio.
