Sarah Forestieri is an Italian-Canadian soprano from Toronto, Canada. Recent performances include Il Destino in La Calisto in Italy, as well as in Alabama as a company member of the Druid City Opera Workshop. Other performances have included a variety of traditional and contemporary art song in Los Angeles, where she participated as a Schubert Fellow at the Songfest Art song Festival. Sarah is no stranger to the music theatre scene, having performed leading roles such as Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray and Ariel in Footloose. Sarah also participated in Acting Upstage’s One Song Glory training program for emerging artists, and had the opportunity to work with Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, as a top 20 contestant on CBC’s hit TV show Over The Rainbow. This past April, Sarah made her professional operatic debut as Rosaura in the Canadian premiere of Los Gavilanes with Toronto Operetta Theatre. In July, Sarah will travel to Baden bei Wien, to participate in the Master Course for singers and pianists in the Poetry and Performance of German Lied at the Franz-Schubert Institute. Sarah is a recipient of the University of Toronto Faculty of Music Robert William Bygrave Bursary, where she is currently earning a Bachelor of Voice Performance, with a specialization in opera.
